Montgomery, AL – The Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce Convention and Visitor Bureau is proud to host one of the nation’s most prestigious travel writer’s conference, Travel Media Showcase (TMS). TMS is produced by J. Vero & Associates (JVA). This year’s show will be held September 8-11 at the Montgomery Convention Center. All attendees will be welcomed by the Renaissance Hotel and Spa. TMS is celebrating its tenth anniversary. As a part of that celebration, TMS is reaching out to the Montgomery community in a big way. TMS has arranged for 10-15 women from the Family Sunshine Center to enjoy all of the amenities the hotel has to offer. JVA is a woman-owned business established in 1994. “I have extended this invitation to these special ladies with the hope that this experience can represent the first day of the rest of their lives, a new chapter with endless opportunities,” President Joanne Vero said. “We are delighted by Joanne Vero’s offer to provide overnight stays and a private luncheon at the Renaissance for Family Sunshine Center clients for several reasons,” said Anna Lee Ingram, Development Director of the Family Sunshine Center. “First, it is so rewarding to know that Dawn Hathcock of the Chamber of Commerce immediately thought to refer Joanne to our mission when asked. Second, we are very excited to know that a number of our clients will get to experience a little rest and relaxation away from the shelter in luxurious accommodations with special treatment. And, third, we are thrilled to forge new relationships with individuals in our community, which presents us with the opportunity to raise awareness about the tragedy of domestic violence and the range of Family Sunshine Center services.” The Family Sunshine Center’s mission is to end family and domestic violence in seven Alabama counties. The Center provides a 24-hour shelter program for victims of domestic violence. Victims are provided with the immediate needs of food, clothing, counseling, and medical services.
