TiMiD Entertainment, an independent film production company in Montgomery, Al is proud to announce the premiere screening of its debut film Documentary, "Rize N Grind." The documentary is an inspiring, tale on the opinions of the Hip Hop music scene in Alabama told from Alabama music artists. The premiere screenings will be held on Saturday, September 10th at 6:00 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. at the Capri Theatre, located at 1045 East Fairview Avenue Montgomery, Al. 36106-2144
"Rize N Grind" features interviews and performances of over 40 hip-hop artists, producers, promoters, DJ's and R&B artists. This film is about the artists that live, breathe, sleep and eat hip-hop, who have a one in a million shot and know it. This is their story. "Rize N Grind" offers a snapshot of rap music in Alabama, notably Montgomery. Packed with candid interviews, powerful performances, and ciphers, "Rize N Grind" is a backstage pass into the lives and art of rap music's underground. "Rize N Grind" is not a documentary about the history of hip hop of Alabama, rather their insightful take on the direction that Hip Hop music is headed in the state.
Directed By Samuel C. Howard the film will premiere on September 10, 2011.
As executive producer and writer of the film, Clarence Thomas, III wanted to do something special for the hip-hop community in Alabama. A graduate of Alabama State University with work experience in the entertainment industry, he felt the music in the state wasn't getting a fair look.
"Alabama has a lot of talented people here, and I wanted to create something that they can tell you that in their own words."
