TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (Oct. 31, 2011)- A concert benefiting the West Alabama Food Bank will take place in Montgomery to help feed the hungry in Tuscaloosa and its surrounding areas. The concert, featuring Nashville artists, will begin at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. at the Capri Theatre located on East Fairview Avenue in Montgomery. Tickets are $15 at the door, and those entering with a canned good donation will be eligible for door prizes throughout the evening.
Nashville artists Melissa DuVall, Adam Shick, Liz Moriondo, and Adam Sanders will provide entertainment for the evening. Artists in the line-up have had demos featured on shows such as Ugly Betty and CMT Insider, as well as several performances across the East Coast. The concert will provide the West Alabama Food Bank with additional resources to continue providing tornado relief in the Tuscaloosa area.
"We are pleased to see that some of our supporters in Montgomery are promoting this concert. Our disaster relief has turned now to long range recovery and one of our efforts in long range recovery is to restock the food pantries of families who were displaced by the tornado," said Henry Lipsey, Director of the West Alabama Food Bank.
The West Alabama Food Bank works with nine counties in West Alabama, serving a population of over 315,000 residents. The food bank has distributed over 17,000,000 pounds of food to date. Proceeds from the concert will directly benefit the WAFB and go towards ending hunger and assisting tornado relief in the West Alabama area.
