Bear Country Extended at the Virginia Samford Theatre: Four Shows Added |

Media Contact: Meg Lewis (Montgomery, Alabama, August 13, 2009) Bear Country, the play about the life and times of legendary University of Alabama football Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant, has been extended through August 23 at Birmingham’s Virginia Samford Theatre. Added performances will take place on Friday, August 21 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, August 22 at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, August 23 at 2 p.m. Bear Country in Birmingham opened on August 6. Tickets range from $38 to $45 and can be obtained by calling 1.800.841.4273 or by visiting www.bearcountrytheplay.com. The theatre is offering a “Sideline Special” where remaining “sideline” seats on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings are available at a Buy One Get One Half Off discount. Bear Country features Rodney Clark as Coach Bryant. John Patrick Hayden, William Peden and Yaegel Welch perform a variety of roles in the play. Roll Bama Roll raved “Bear Country ain’t nothin’ but a winner!” Montgomery Living magazine called the play, “amazing and entertaining.” Bear Country is produced by the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.
